It's been a wonderful love affair for almost eight years but yesterday I sold my jeep. Like a best friend, or my dog, Kirby, my jeep, Shadow, sometimes known as Roxy, has been part of the best times of my life. Whether it was picking out trails at Big Bear Lake and climbing over those huge boulders, or traversing the sand canyons in the Anza Borrego Desert, the memories are awesome. I used to think that there wasn't enough room in a jeep for camping supplies but I learned to fit two adults, a dog, two coolers, a tent and sleeping bags, not to mention all the gear, and stow it in such a way as to adventure fully loaded. There were adventures in the snow and rain, day and night, with lots of jeeps or just by myself. The people I met were mostly fantastic and have stayed friends. I think someday I'll own another jeep, but for now, I've closed one of the best chapters of my adult life. The reason is that my windsurfing chapter is in full swing, I'm having another of the best times in my life, and the friends are fantastic. You have to decide what you want most in life and do them, I can't do them all at once but I can surely do them one at a time. My Terrific Jeep The jeep is a dark blue color and has no body damage, the paint is original but near perfect. It has many modifications and has been beefed up to be a great rock crawler, go anywhere to camp, and have fun vehicle, it needs very little else. The tops (soft top and bikini) are a spice (tan) color and so is the interior. The seats are very comfortable, the drivers seat has one rip on it. The jeep leaves no oil stains in the drive or garage, and has 176,500 miles. I bought the jeep at 164,000 miles in the year 2000 ( yes, only 12,000 miles in the last 6 years), and it was totally stock, the modifications began about that time. Most modifications were added by M.I.T. in El Cajon, California, known for their superior workmanship. The soft top is almost new with perfectly clear plastic. The Jeep has been well maintained and has only been driven off road at slow speeds, many obstacles, but slow and gentle. Some of the pictures are when I had the Pro Comp 4" lift on it. I got rid of that lift because it was not as smooth on the street as I wanted it to be, the National Spring 6" lift is by far the better and also it is more smooth. I have never used the jeep as a daily driver and I am selling it now because I hardly ever use it and it just sits. It needs a good home to a serious four wheeler, weekend warrior, or even someone who wants a toy and to show off a very capable vehicle. The front bumper has an ever so slight tweak at the right corner, other wise all scratches are on skid plates, rocker skids and some on the alloy rims, where they are expected. The modifications alone far exceed $10,000, and the jeep itself is beautiful.
