The year 1999 was the year I consider my landmark year, it was such a good year that I never expect another to come close. It was the year I got to full pay scale at Consolidated Freightways and lenders finally decided I was worth the risk. It was the year I refinanced my home and paid off a growing debt that began when Willig Freight lines went out of business in 1995. It was the year I bought my Ford Expedition which is now seven years old. It is also the year that I discovered internet chat and met Stephanie. Stephanie is a good friend that I have never physically met, she lives in Canada. We met in a chat room and we chatted every night for months on end. We became very close friends as these poems from 1999 attest. I also joined a Yahoo! club for camping and made more great friends that helped color my next several years. Friends met on the internet have been prominent continually, and have been highlights in my life from this point forward. Microns or Miles
Be it microns or miles, I feel your touch So close to my heart, I desire you so much Our kisses they are, like rain to a flower One could never know, ever, they held so much power To stroke golden hair, to meet steely eyes Our lips barely touching, singing sweet “oh mys” To love from afar, do you think we could? But I feel you inside me, it’s understood We make love on a rooftop, in a park, by a lake Our desire for kisses, trail, never far, in our wake My body against yours, our touch is so light No love has ever felt quite this right Though the (s)miles between us are always great We’ll just leave it to luck, kismet, or fate I will not try to understand how this can be My jolts come from you, and yours, from me
